Our colourful mission

Our story is all about pure linen. Pure flax with a modern twist.

It starts from our home village by the golden river where, upstream, flax fields pop up every year. It did so for centuries and made our region into the world's renowned centre of flax.

To extract the long grey fibres from the flax plant and turn them into a beautiful fabric, it took hard labour. That came with a passion, now deeply rooted in our DNA, For the affection to pure linen never really faded. Evidently, we source our fibres where known to be the finest, just across the French-Belgian border.

Woven and crafted with pride into fine bedlinen in Portugal after a long and equally passionate process. Thanks to an innovative enzyme washing, the sturdy fibres get softened into this gorgeous delight.

Every inch authentic, pure linen means pure joy. It's this breath of a fabric woven so airy. That freshness that comes with a simple airing.
Its absorbing soft washed fibres cuddling you every night.

On the fashionable matter of greenwashing labels, we decided it best none are to be found on our linens! For flax grows quite naturally without. It takes exactly 100 days from seed to harvest. Thanks to our rainy climate - not really the envy of the world - it does so without any added water. Nor is there any genetically modified flax crop involved. Hardly in need of pesticides, if occasionally applied against diseases, it is within tightly controlled EU limits. And as for labour standards, they  are ours well, EU labour standards.

Meandering back home along our river Lys in Flanders, an abundance of natural country living once inspired our great luminist painters. Their positive, nuanced but refreshing colours came to mind when looking for a design direction.

Reinterpreted by our Danish textile designer, we are so proud to bring these playful subtly scandic colours on our palette. Which is now yours to choose from, ready for a bedding refresh.
